7 outdoor things to do in March
As the days get longer, the clocks go forward and the weather gets warmer, spend some time in the outdoors with the family. Here are some of the best things going on in March 2020:
World Book Day

is needed now More than ever
Exchange a £1 World Book Day token for a book in Dyrham Park’s store and tell your own adventure stories, creating a trail in the parkland. Volunteers will also be telling stories in the Greenhouse on Saturday and Sunday.
Afterschool Supper & Play Session

During term time, Playful Bristol hold a free play session each Thursday from 3.30pm to 6pm. A hot, healthy meal will be provided and is usually vegetarian or vegan. Bikes are welcome, with Life Cycle UK holding a workshop each session from 4pm to 6pm.
Slimbridge Cygnets
WWT Slimbridge, March 10 & 24, www.wwt.org.uk
A special group especially for toddlers that meets twice a month, arrive at 10.30am for an 11am start. On March 10, learn about birds and make a feeder and on March 24 get up close to the residents of Toad Hall. After the session, why not stay and feed the birds or have a play in Welly Boot land?
After School Gardening

Get outdoors and help children learn new skills in gardening. Children can learn about the different seasons and weather. Find out how it effects different species of plants and what’s needed to help different flowers and plants grow.
Family Fun Day!

From 10.30am to 12.30pm, head to Westbury-on-Trym for two hours of fun. There will be an Easter egg hunt, soft play, face painting, balloon modelling and mother’s day crafts for children, and free, homemade Easter biscuits for parents and grandparents.
TYNTEtots: The Little Red Hen

Stories, games and crafts for two to five-year-olds and their families, based on the story of The Little Red Hen. Have a go at being a cook, play with farmyard friends and plant a seed.
BUMP Roller Disco
Millennium Square, March 21 onwards, www.bumpclub.co.uk
Get your skates on at BUMP Roller Disco. From 11am to 1pm, anyone aged three and over can join in the fun of roller disco at BUMP’s sheltered rink.
