Competition: Win a Love2Shop voucher worth £50 courtesy of ELM Legal

By Bristol24/7  Monday Dec 9, 2019

Wild Place Project have had a very successful year introducing their exciting new exhibit ‘Bear Wood’. The project was created to educate and raise awareness of the destruction of Britain’s ancient woodland and in turn, the effects this had had on the habitats of our indigenous creatures such as the bear, lynx and wolf.

Bear Wood takes you on a journey by entering a ‘time chamber’, where they rewind the clock back to 8000 BC when Britain was densely covered with woodland. You then emerge amongst the trees, ready to go on a time-hopping, wildlife-spotting adventure. This is one of the largest brown bear projects in the UK and allows visitors a really unique and memorable experience. As well as being a fun family day out, it is a brilliant way for children to learn about our ecosystem and the importance of protecting our woodlands and the animals that live there.

Following the opening of the new enclosures at the end of July, the Wild Place Project welcomed a record-breaking number of visitors this summer. Including visits from royalty and the Bristol Bears Rugby Team! The enormous support from local sponsors and the subsequent media coverage (local, national and international!) resulted in a reach of over 10,000 people! This is all thanks to the hard work of the staff at the Wild Place, and the fundraising and support of their sponsors.

As one of the proud supporters of Bear Wood, the team of professional Will Writers & Estate Planners at ELM Legal Services sponsored one of the 20 life-size painted bear sculptures (each which stand 1.83m tall, 78cm wide and weighs 40kg!). These bears featured in the hugely successful ‘Bear Trail’ at the Wild Place which ran this summer and included a variety of colourful bears with different designs all created by talented local artists.

The ELM bear, (known as ‘Will’) was resident at the Wild Place for the duration of the Trail event – hopefully some of you had the chance to visit him! However, with the school holidays now over, ‘Will’ has moved into his new home at the ELM Head Office here in Bristol.

ELM would love to hear if any of you had the chance to make acquaintances with their bear, and would be excited to see some photos of you and your family visiting the bears on your day out to the Wild Place Project!

They are therefore running a prize draw where you could win a Love2Shop voucher worth £50 and meet Will up close! All you need to do to enter is ‘like’ the ELM Facebook page and post a photo of you with one of the bear statues (under the competition post at the top of the ELM Facebook page)! The winner will be picked and announced on the 10th of January!

If you would like to discuss protecting your family by getting a Will in place – why not get in touch with ELM’s dedicated Legal Team to have a chat about how they can help you get peace of mind knowing your loved ones are taken care of?
