The summer of love
Love Saves The Day is the perfect name for the annual Eastville Park festival with a rainbow clash of everything that glitters and sparkles mixed with a bohemian/streetwear mash up. It’s as if your eyes are looking through real rose tinted spectacles at the return of the Summer of Love, but with an urban Bristol swagger.
“We always try and make our stage designs and decor as unique, colourful and vibrant as possible – but each year we seem to be outdone by our crowd,” says one of the Love Saves The Day team “You only need to go out in Bristol to see that the city has an infinite love for glitter, shiny accessories and bold fashion statements. The only way that LSTD is different is by the fact that people make even more effort!”
Festival fashion at Love Saves The Day
This boho glitter fest and its urban flower children decorate Love Saves The Day with a glitter ball glam, DIY approach. If you were not quite so confident with self-glitter embellishment you could get your glitter done by fashion stalls like The Fash Pack, who are a self-confessed ‘glitterati hullabaloo of inventive creative rebellion’. A collaboration between That Thing and many amazing Bristol independent designers who attend festivals as a big fashion family, selling beautiful garms and decorating festival goers with beautiful glitter face paint and even glitter beards from Harrison’s Beard Bar.

The Fash Pack designers at Love Saves The Day include Lycra Queens Burnt Soul Clothing, who create the most flattering catsuits and meggings, 60s-inspired Perspex garms from Kokomo and amazing headgear and accessories from Zedhead Headwear featuring wonderful headdresses and accessories with pom-poms, feathers and a few Unicorns chucked in for when you need to go that step further into cutesville. Not forgetting the festival must-have bumbag from Buutchi and Gosmos.
The big new trend for festivals this year is the cape, with Bristol’s own specialists Capes Capes Capes, creating bespoke designs.
Another fashion collaboration found on the opposite side of the festival to The Fash Pack were Boo Dior with their built-in catwalk and make-over salon: a one-stop shop offering clothing from Bristol designers Puckoo Couture and Lady Gonzales, with the chance to grab a cocktail while you were there.
Grime artist Nadia Rose was rollin’ with her girl ‘Skwod’ of dancers, who were dressed in old school Adidas sportwear and working their tough but cute swagger, a perfect mix of style, music and performance.
The Cloud 9 stage also had the most amazing Memphis-style graphic wall next to it, so contemporary right now and perfect as a back drop for your festival fashion selfies.

With the sunshine glistening on all of the sequinned clothing and sparkles of colour, the dots of camouflage and urban sportswear were received as a welcome relief amongst the glitter and sequin overdose, a good mix of style and people is what makes this festival work. It oozes Bristol’s creative spirit.
