Mental health charity launches Bristol Befriending Week
Changes Bristol is a local and community-led mental health charity offering free and practical help and advice for anyone over the age of 18 undergoing mental health challenges.
Through 18 peer support groups, telephone befriending and a walk and talk service, they help over 1,000 people annually to take steps in improving their mental health.
Now, the charity is launching Bristol Befriending Week, a campaign that celebrates friendship, community and connecting with others.

Running from April 25-May 1, a programme of free events is planned, from a photography walk, to yoga at Yoga Loft Bristol, and a gardening workshop with Alive.
The week will conclude with a social event in Eastville Park to which all Changes Bristol members, volunteers and staff are invited.
Changes Bristol have also created a video with help from some well-known Bristolians including Will Taylor, trustee at the Arnolfini, Councillor Lorraine Francis, Donna Speed, CEO at We The Curious and Joanna Holmes, CEO at the Wellspring Settlement.
The video includes short clips from inspiring Bristolians talking about a friendship that has meant a lot to them, no matter how big or small this is.
Jason Washbourne, Changes Bristol CEO comments: “Connecting with others is a huge part of improving mental wellbeing.
“We want to use this campaign to give people an opportunity to think about their community, friends and the people around them.”
More information on the campaign is available at Bristol Befriending Week. To participate in any of the free events, email befriending@changesbristol.org.uk to show your interest. Mental health information and support from Changes Bristol is available at www.changesbristol.org.uk.
