is needed now More than ever
Customer Consultations
A large part of Will’s job is consulting with customers about their designs. Customers can book in advance or drop into the showrooms to browse, be inspired by the range of displays and speak to the experts. The Gardiner Haskins design process differs from many competitors, with a dedicated designer managing each project from start to finish.
Will says, “Customer consultations are crucial to understanding their requirements. The design possibilities are endless so guiding them through options and learning about their taste and needs, even down to materials and appliances they want, helps me get a much clearer picture of their vision. We run consultations throughout the process to make sure they are fully involved all the way through – it’s their design after all!”
Home Visits
When planning a new Fitted Kitchen, another integral part of Will’s role is visiting customer homes.
Will says, “Many companies no longer offer the home visit service – and the ones that do, don’t do it free of charge like us. For us, it is a vital part of the process. Visits are a chance to view the space for ourselves, take measurements and chat in further depth with the customers.”
Designing
Back at the showroom, Will uses the latest CAD (Computer Assisted Design) software to bring the design to life.
Will says, “CAD creates a 3D image of how the finished room will look and customers see exactly what they will be getting when it is completed. The CAD images also mean that details can be instantly changed to see how it would look with any adjustments.”
When designs are in place, Will has a lot of admin work to get the project underway. From ordering materials to liaising with fitters, he oversees the project until completion and is always on hand to answer any questions.
On his favourite part of his role, Will says, “I find it exciting working with customers to take a space and turn it into something completely different.”
