Learn French with the French
Alliance Francaise are French language and culture specialists in Bristol and Bath. Culture specialists I hear you say? What’s different about Alliance Francaise is the flexibility to learn French in different ways, including through their French cookery classes and French drama classes.
“The drama classes are all improvisation, so it’s not just learning a play in French and performing it,” explains Martine Annandale, head of Alliance Francaise.
“You have to write out sketches and short plays, so you can’t actually be a beginner for these classes. And the same with cookery, you’ve got to have the minimum level of French to understand the cooking instructions.
is needed now More than ever
“It’s not a better way of learning, it’s a different way. Quite a lot of people do these classes with our regular courses as well.”
Alliance Francaise offer courses from beginner to advanced. Classes are two hours a week for 30 weeks, and every single student is assessed individually by Martine before enrolment to make sure they are put into the right class.
One of the most popular reasons people have for coming to learn French is for their CVs – people are seeing how difficult it is to get a job and by showing commitment to learning a language as well as working, it shows that they’re motivated and talented in many ways.
