Love / Blind date
Blind date: Joanne and Miles
Support worker Joanne, 30, met chef Miles, also 30.
Joanne:
Have you ever been on a blind date before?
is needed now More than ever
No
What made you want to go on a blind date?
Free food and a bit of bribery from my colleagues.
What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?
Flustered but friendly!
What did you talk about?
Food… my love of halloumi.
What was the atmosphere like?
Really chilled and the staff were friendly.
Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?
No, I’m pretty happy living in the moment!
What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?
Happy go lucky.
What do you think your date made of you?
I think he thought the same as me – that we don’t have a lot in common.
Is there anything you would change about the evening?
No, the food and drinks were great.
Did you go somewhere else after your meal?
No, we both had early starts the next day.
Were there any sparks of potential…?
No, I don’t think we have anything in common.
Will you meet again?
We didn’t exchange numbers.
Miles:
Have you ever been on a blind date before?
Never on a totally blind date.
What made you want to go on a blind date?
I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to meet the potential love my life!
What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?
She’s already here, I’m late!
What did you talk about?
Food, family, friends, dating, living in Bristol, work, travel. Nothing unconventional or controversial. I was pretty knackered which didn’t help.
What was the atmosphere like?
The restaurant was packed for an early Thursday evening, but the vibe was relaxed.
Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?
Not really, perhaps bed towards the end of the evening.
What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?
She was very bubbly and good company.
What do you think your date made of you?
I think she was a bit disappointed – I’m not the most grown-up of 30-year-olds.
Is there anything you would change about the evening?
I probably shouldn’t have gone out the night before until 6am.
Did you go somewhere else after your meal?
We both had things to do the next morning, so said our goodbyes and headed in separate directions.
Were there any sparks of potential…?
Joanne was a really nice girl but there wasn’t a hint of anything.
Will you meet again?
Maybe in passing but nope.
Many thanks to the hosts of this month’s date:
