Pottery school and studio to open in former pub
“An escape for ceramicists in the heart of Bristol” is due to open in the autumn.
Zed Alley Clayhouse will host pottery classes and studio sessions in a historic building on Host Street which was originally a pub.
The new venture is from Damian Eley, a structural engineer whose projects include stone spires and a staircase at the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.

Writing on LinkedIn, Eley said: “After 30 years of structural engineering in London, I have decided to pursue a new business venture and artisanal life.
“My wife Alison and I moved to Bristol in November where we are setting up a pottery school and studio, called Zed Alley Clayhouse.
“We’ll be refurbishing a listed Georgian building in the city centre, close to the Christmas Steps. It was originally a pub and later became a print works with a workshop added at the back.
“If everything goes to plan we will open our doors this autumn.”
