Sauna to open at city farm
A new outdoor sauna and chilled plunge pool is opening in the unlikely location of an orchard in a south Bristol city farm.
Orchard Sauna at Windmill Hill City Farm will soon be taking bookings before opening in early January for people who want to enjoy the sociable aspects of sauna culture.
The project is aiming to be as sustainable as possible, with a green generator running on recycled vegetable oil and what is believed to be a UK-first of filtered recycled water in the plunge pool and hot shower.

Orchard Sauna founder Greg originally looked at locating a sauna within a disused building in Bristol before finding this space at Wildmill Hill City Farm near his home.
Writing on the Orchard Sauna website, Greg said: “I set up the Orchard Sauna for the good folk of Bristol. I hope you find it a relaxing, enjoyable, and friendly space.
“I wanted to create a space for all people to connect, to relax and to feel welcomed, whilst getting all the ‘good feels’ from the hot/cold cycles of sauna and cold plunge.
“I’m so excited to make something like this in Bristol – I hope you are too! Tell your pals and I’ll see you at the Farm!”

Communal sessions costing £15 for one hour will be able to hold up to eight people with private hire for two people being available for £100.
Greg will also be opening the sauna to different charitable groups based around Bedminster.
