Donate your unwanted clothes at the Swopz Shop
The new initiative encouraging people to swap rather than shop is hosting its first post-lockdown pop-up.
Swopz Shop sees people able to list unwanted items for a value in points on the website. Once the items are swapped, the points gained can be spent on other items on the site.
And now, Swopz Shop is hosting a pop-up event July 4 at St Werburgh’s Community Centre where you will be able to swap out old clothing for the new, without hurting the environment or your bank balance.
is needed now More than ever
Jasmine de Savigny is the founder of the organisation. She explains why coming to a Swopz Shop could currently be a good alternative to donating to a charity shop.
“We fully support donating to charity shops. They provide a key service for the community but unfortunately due to the increasing throwaway culture and lockdown, donations are turned away because they can’t keep up with the demand,” said Jasmine.
“We hope to relieve some of this pressure by providing a creative alternative to charity shops which is accessible in the local community as well as online. Supporting anyone to swap out the old for the new in an easy and sustainable way.”

Join the pop-up event taking place July 4 – and if you can’t, look out for future events that Swopz Shop will be organising across Bristol and the UK.
“We are focusing on building up our local swapping communities, holding lots more swopz events across Bristol and improving our online offering. But we don’t want to stop there, as we would love to get the whole country swapping,” said Jasmine.
