A holiday among the trees
It’s only a short journey from Bristol, but Uplands Treehouse could be a thousand miles away from the bustling city. Located near Wrington, ten minutes from Yatton, Uplands Treehouse is a cosy retreat hidden away in the woodland.
A beautifully crafted bolthole surrounded by green leaves, the treehouse has a living and dining area and kitchen, bathroom with outdoor shower, mezzanine bedroom and a sprawling balcony.

It’s raining as the taxi pulls up the drive to the treehouse, but there’s supplies to warm up our damp hair and shivering bodies. The kettle goes on, and coffee is poured into mug – the pint of milk in the fridge is a very welcome surprise.

There’s a picnic basket in the corner of the kitchen, and packed inside are an array of treats; a loaf of bread from the bakery, homemade jam, pastries, crisps, chocolate, prosecco and orange juice.
Pulling out the living room drawers, there are plenty of games, and the evening is whiled away tackling a puzzle, nibbling on chocolate and reading on the sofa.
An al fresco breakfast with a view
It’s an impressive retreat and the views are breath taking, waking up with a view over the Mendips and fields of alpacas and horses visible from the rear of the treehouse. The highlight of the stay was without a doubt the mezzanine bedroom with views as far as the eye could see.
There were plenty of walks to try and the next day was sunny and perfect for exploring the nearby the village of Wrington. Home to Mother Hen, a café with a zero-waste pantry selling coffee and light lunches, and The Plough, a pub with a sterling menu and great garden to match, it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon.

In the evening, after an al fresco shower and tired from a busy day of walking, we whiled away the evening enjoying a glass of prosecco on the balcony with never ending views over the countryside.
