16 photos of Bristol under lockdown
A wedding photographer from Westbury-on-Trym has been taking photos of Bristol under lockdown. 30-year-old Joab Smith has been taking photos of the empty city streets at 6am, before most people wake.
“I was inspired by another photographer to go for a cycle at sunrise and I took my camera just in case,” says Joab. “It was a beautiful morning and when I stopped to take a photo on Park Street I realised this really is that moment, the one from the films of empty streets during a pandemic.
“At that point it really hit me how real it was, and suddenly it felt like I was capturing history.”
