“I feel absolutely privileged to have been given the opportunity to lend my expertise to such a great organisation with so many different assets that support the local community including the brilliant slow cooker project.

Heart of BS13 was founded in 1990 by a group of BS13 residents keen to address specific health problems through increased connection with the local environment.
Over the years, the organisation has widened its brief to include mental health support, targeted nutrition and cooking activity and now a focus on social enterprise.
BS13 hosts a variety of community events and activities throughout the year, including several coming up in December:
- December 2-4: sustainable wreath workshop
- December 18: The Winter’s Walk family theatre show
- December 21 & 22: Forest School Holiday Club

The charity also prepares handmade home-style ready meals made in small batches and delivered to your door. Every purchase helps fund food poverty work in BS13.
