Bristol Charity Advent Calendar 2024, day 5: Your Park Bristol & Bath
Your Park Bristol & Bath is the working name of the Bristol and Bath Parks Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving access to green spaces.
They always have a range of projects going on to help make parks more welcoming and inclusive.
For example, since the Youth Strike 4 Climate led by Greta Thunberg in 2020, Your Park have been creating new wild habitats in College Green. They hope that the habitats will help provide food and housing for at least 2,000 new species.

Meanwhile, at Hartcliffe Millennium Green, Your Park have started work on installing a new accessible entrance, raised planters and additional seating to make the park easier to access for disabled visitors.

As well as spearheading their own initiatives, Your Park has also reinvested money back into the community.
In 2021 they gave grants through their Love Your Park community fund to help revitalise much-loved parks and community gardens, including Hillfields Community Garden and Dame Emily Park in Bedminster.
And through their nature-based support group, ‘Roots to Wellbeing’, Your Park provide weekly activities to help people connect with nature and improve their mental health and wellbeing. Activities include walks, mindfulness exercises and gardening.
