Discover the real taste of Greece with Taka Taka and Deliveroo
A record number of Brits are visiting Greece this year, with arrivals up 181% since last year and UK tourists edging out Germans for the first time in decades. With its picturesque beaches, fresh food and charming people, it’s easy to understand why Greece is among the most visited places on Earth. Luckily, there are ways to experience Greece from the comfort of your own home…
Picture plates layered with crispy, succulent lamb fresh out of the oven. Immensely appetising bowls of salad with fresh tomatoes, cucumber, red onion and the creamiest feta you’ll ever taste. While gobbling up a gyros as it’s grey and drizzling outside may not compare to the vibrant tavernas or seafront restaurants of Greek islands, this cuisine does seem to bring the sunshine with it no matter where you are.
Here in Bristol, Taka Taka’s cuisine will do just that. With its mouth-watering pita wraps containing Souvlaki or Gyros, traditional Greek salads, Magic Rolls and Taka Halloumi Fries that can be delivered straight to your doorstep through Deliveroo, you will be transported straight to Greece.
is needed now More than ever
It’s exactly these kind of independent restaurants that Deliveroo likes to champion. In a bid to highlight some of the best independent offerings in Bristol, Deliveroo has been shedding light on Taka Taka amongst nine other local independent restaurants through a campaign that celebrates what Bristol is best known for: street art and independent restaurants.
In partnership with Upfest, the organisation behind Europe’s largest street art festival, Deliveroo launched a show-stopping mural in the city centre, by street artist Silent Hobo, alongside 10 bespoke pieces of artwork that best depict the essence of each restaurant.
Taka Taka’s artwork was created by SledOne, a Bristol-based artist whose street art style is a unique blend of realism, fine art and abstract expressionism. His ability to translate a vibrant imagination is very distinct, creating characters that leave the viewer feeling nostalgic, while also including elements of humour.
His signature style is very apparent in his artwork for Taka Taka, which blends the classical with the irreverent. Where Eros, the Greek God of Love has fallen for the Gyros from Taka Taka.
SledOne’s artwork is currently on display throughout Bristol, alongside the other nine pieces of artwork for the campaign.
