First Bus launch their brand new travel app

First Bus has recently updated its travel app to make getting around even easier with all the information you need to catch the bus, now at your fingertips. It’s a smart piece of tech that lets you plan your journey door to door using public transports, gives you bus and train times and shows you route maps.
A quick search for ‘First Bus’ in your app store (available for Apple and Android) will find the free app. Once it’s downloaded you can find which bus to catch, where to catch it and what time. And unlike your old paper timetable, you’ll never need to worry if it’s out of date.

The journey planning feature allows you to select any location, postcode or address to travel from and to. It then works out the best option for you on public transport and doesn’t just include services from First Buses. It shows you the quickest journey even if this is by train or another operators bus and includes walking times and routes for the start and end of the journey.
While making your journey you can follow it on the map all the way to your destination, giving you peace of mind along the way. You can save your favourite bus stops and favourite locations you travel to, so it’s even quicker to look up next time plus your recent searches are automatically saved.
The app also gives you access to real-time information (where available) showing when the next buses will be arriving at a bus stop, along with the scheduled times for a date and time in the future. It shows you the bus stops nearest to your location or you can manually move around the map to look at any other stops. Once you’ve found the bus stop you want, you can see real-time information about when the next buses will be arriving. So for example, instead of waiting at the stop in the rain you can plan to arrive in time with the bus. If you use a stop regularly – such as one by your home or workplace – you can favourite the stop by clicking on the star in the top corner of your screen and it then appears on the home screen of the app for quicker access.
