What’s happening on International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is next week on 8th March. With dozens of events on across Bristol, this is your guide to some of the highlights.
Interactive Panel Debate at UWE Future Space – March 6, 6pm

Come along to an interactive panel debate titled ‘Value of Diversity with Women in Nuclear and EDF’, with speakers from EY Unity (Minna Lewis, D&I team), Thomas Tor (Eve Guillton), EDF (Jennie Jenkins) and EDF (Sukhy Hogwood). It is being held at UWE Future Space, and starts at 6pm.

Afternoon tea with ICAEW at Bristol Harbour Hotel – March 8, 4pm.

Join the Institute for Chartered Accountants in England and Wales for afternoon tea at Bristol Harbour Hotel from 4pm onwards.
The event is supporting the charity Dress for Success by collecting used work clothes. It will include speeches from Denise Neale Gordan (Dress for Success) and Peaches Golding, the first black High-Sheriff in England.
International Women’s Day in Knowle West – March 8, 10am-4pm
Filwood Community Centre, Barnstaple Rd, Bristol BS4 1JP
Join in several activities to celebrate International Women’s Day at Filwood Community Centre, including a guest speaker appearance by Lucien Boyce, author of The Bristol Suffragettes. There will also be taster sessions and stalls.
The event lasts from 10am-4pm and is free entry.
Girls Only Skate Event at Campus Pool – March 8, 6-10pm
Campus Pool, Whitchurch Road, Bristol, BS13 7RW
Campus Skateparks, in collaboration with boomsatsuma, are hosting a girls only skate session in celebration of International Women’s Day. The session, running from 6pm to 10pm, will offer females the opportunity to skate with free tuition, practise their beat-making skills in a DJ workshop from Saffron Records, and talk to female event management practitioners about how to organise their own events.
The session, brainchild of Andre Seidel (Campus owner) and Lyndsay Davies (Creative Projects Manager at boom satsuma) aims to offer females a comfortable, safe space to skate and try new things whilst celebrating International Women’s Day.
