Why Slide chose Bristol
Impressive as it may be, the Instagram-worthy suspension bridge is not the reason we decided to launch a new ride-to-work service in Bristol. Nor, in fact, was it the vast array of ciders. (Although, after several halves of Exhibition, decision making does become a little questionable…)
Some sources say Bristol’s success is due to historical and geographical accident, others a labour of love, but whether it has had a helping hand or not, the prosperity is plain to see. Add to the mix, diverse culture, a restaurant selection to satisfy the biggest foodie, and evidence of an exodus of working-age folk from London, and that’s temptation enough.
Launching a new business is a huge challenge in any city, especially when it is an entirely new shared-travel concept like Slide Bristol. However, with such a thriving tech scene, it felt like the perfect place to reach an early adopter market.
is needed now More than ever
As well as being able to tell you the difference between a local scrumpy and a common pint of Strongbow, locals in Bristol give innovation a big thumbs up. Since parking our shiny Slide vehicles in Bristol, the positivity and advice we have received has doubled our confidence. We’ve even taken to the streets wearing homemade sandwich boards and passers-by have done nothing other than embrace the ingenuity!
So there you have it. We’ll take a pint of your best brew and enjoy the bright lights of the harbourside. Find out more about Slide on our website and check in for cheeky tweets via @SlideBristol.
