Bristol 2015: Monkey Kingdom comes to Bristol

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Oct 27, 2015

Bristol Natural History Consortium, organisers of Bristol’s popular Festival of Nature, is offering Bristol’s wildlife fans the chance to rub shoulders with world-renowned wildlife film makers at a special preview screening of Disneynature Monkey Kingdom at Cinema de Lux, Cabot Circus, on November 4.

After receiving widespread praise from critics in North America earlier this year, this will be the first chance for Bristol residents to see the film that was created on Whiteladies Road at a screening attended by a range of renowned wildlife filmmakers as well as key figures in the Bristol scene.

The film will be followed by a Q&A session with Director Mark Linfield and Co-Director Alastair Fothergill, giving the audience a chance to hear exclusive stories from behind the scenes and delve deeper into the world of wildlife film.

This special screening will act as the grand finale to the Wild Encounters project. Led by the Bristol Natural History Consortium, in partnership with a range of industry experts, and with strategic funding from Bristol 2015, Wild Encounters has hosted a variety of screenings of locally produced films across the South-West in celebration of Bristol’s world renowned wildlife film industry, during Green Capital year.

Monkey Kingdom is a spectacular tale set among ancient ruins in the storied jungles of South Asia. Maya, a clever and resourceful monkey, finds her world forever changed when she welcomes her son Kip into her colourful extended family.

Limited tickets are available until November 4th and can be obtained by emailing wildencounters@bnhc.org.uk
