In pictures: Bristolians enjoy new rainbow crossing
On July 3rd, Bristol unveiled its first rainbow road crossing, joining cities across the world promoting LGBTQ+ rights and diversity with rainbow crossings.
Bristol Pride director Dayrn Carter has said the crossing, which is set to remain in place for the foreseeable future, will serve as “a positive, unmissable reminder to celebrate diversity in all its forms”.
While the crossing was briefly defaced by homophobic graffiti, Bristol City Council were quick to remove the damage.
is needed now More than ever
The colourful crossing, which is located on Wine Street, has quickly become one of Bristol’s most Instagrammable spots.
People – and their pups- have been flocking to take photos at the crossing.
