By Betty Woolerton  Tuesday Jun 13, 2023

A boy who was killed at a birthday party in a Bath suburb on Saturday has been named as Mikey Roynon.

The 16-year-old from Kingswood suffered from a single stab wound and was found by emergency services at an address in Eastfield Avenue.

Three teenagers, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old from Wiltshire and a 15-year-old from Dorset, remain in police custody, after 11 people were initially arrested.

Mickey, an aspiring rapper, was described as a “kind loving and thoughtful soul” and “funny and fearless”.

A crowdfunding page has been set up to help his family with the funeral arrangements.

Its organiser posted: “Hello, as many of you know Mikey aka “YM” has recently passed away during an altercation resulting in some very unforgivable actions.

“As you can imagine his mum and dad are distraught their son will forever be 16.

“Mikey was such a kind loving and thoughtful soul who cared so much about his friends and family.

“He was so funny and fearless.

“This money will more than likely go towards the expenses his family now need to pay out, loss of earnings, funeral, headstone etc. anything of their choice.

“So if you could spare anything we would be more than grateful.

“Thank you.”

Detective inspector Mark Newbury, of the major crime investigation team, said the investigation into Mikey’s murder continues “at pace” with staff “working tirelessly to piece together what happened”.

Newbury said: “A cordon remains in place at the scene, and we continue to appeal for anyone who has images, footage or information which could help our inquiry to get in touch.”

Anyone with information, images or footage which could help the police inquiry into Mikey’s death are asked to submit it via the major incident public portal.

Alternatively, you contact police by phone, by calling 101 and providing the call handler with the reference 5223136640.
