All the candidates running in the 2024 local elections

The local elections are an opportunity for voters to choose who they want to represent them at the council level.

There are 34 wards in Bristol in total, with each having a different number of candidates depending on its size – either one, two or three people will be selected per ward.

At this year’s local elections there are hundreds of candidates standing across the city, but only 70 will be chosen.

And after Bristol voted to scrap the role of city mayor in 2022, there will be no mayoral elections.

Instead, a committee made up of councillors will make the big decisions for Bristol, replacing outgoing mayor Marvin Rees.

Here is a comprehensive guide to who Bristol residents can vote for on Thursday, May 2, broken down into each ward:
