Armed police arrest man in Easton
Armed police swept onto a residential street to arrest a man carrying “what appeared to be a firearm” on Wednesday evening.
A helicopter hovered overhead as officers arrived at the scene on Chelsea Road in Easton at around 5pm following reports a delivery driver had been threatened.
Police have said they are carrying out additional patrols in the area to reassure residents while enquiries continue at the scene.

The man remained in custody on Thursday morning.
Detective inspector Will Thorpe said: “At around 4.50pm on 12 October, we received a call relating to a delivery driver being threatened in the area of Chelsea Park by a man carrying what appeared to be a firearm.
“Due to the nature of the information received, firearms officers and the National Police Air Service were deployed to the scene.
“A man has been arrested in connection with this incident.
“We’ll now be carrying out additional patrols of the area to reassure residents while enquiries continue.”
