Armed police swept onto a residential street to arrest a man carrying “what appeared to be a firearm” on Wednesday evening.

A helicopter hovered overhead as officers arrived at the scene on Chelsea Road in Easton at around 5pm following reports a delivery driver had been threatened.

Police have said they are carrying out additional patrols in the area to reassure residents while enquiries continue at the scene.
