Balloons for Becky: Hundreds pay respects

By Pamela Parkes  Sunday Mar 8, 2015

Some 400 people gathered in St George’s Park on Sunday to remember Becky Watts.

Among the mourners was Becky’s father and stepmother Darren and Angie-Mae Galsworthy who, together with hundreds of other people, released brightly coloured balloons in her memory.

The 16-year-old disappeared from her home in Crown Hill on February 19.

After intensive searches of open land and houses across the city her remains were found in a house in Barton Hill.

Her step-brother 28-year-old Nathan Matthews is charged with her murder.

Earlier Becky’s uncle Sam Galsworthy said: ” Becky is going to be laid to rest in the most loving, perfect and peaceful way.

Six other people are also charged in connection with her disappearance.
