Body found in docks after search for missing man

Police divers searching for a missing man since Sunday evening have recovered a body from the Floating Harbour.

Three people had been rescued from the docks near Narrow Quay but a fourth could not be located.

Two men and one woman were pulled out of the water by fire crews with both men requiring hospital treatment.

Crews from Temple, Bath, Bedminster and Southmead were called to the scene next to the Arnolfini at 10.23pm on Sunday evening to reports of four people in difficulty.

A police spokesperson said a body was found by divers on Monday with the death not being treated as suspicious.

Formal identification is not expected to take place for a few days but the missing man’s family have been informed.
