Bristol’s first upside-down house taking shape
Even the big bad wolf would be discombobulated if he tried to blow down the house currently being built in Bristol.
The wooden structure is taking shape on Anchor Square but all is not as it seems.
Because this is an upside-down house, which will be coming to an Instagram feed near you as soon as it opens its upturned front door in February.
is needed now More than ever
Bristol’s first upside-down house is taking shape next to the Ferris wheel and is being brought to the city by the same company behind other gravity-defying structures in Brighton, Liverpool, London and Milton Keynes.
Tickets will cost £6.95 per person with guests warned that “motion sickness may apply due to the house being at a slant”.

The Upside Down House website says that designers “have carefully selected the exterior colour in magenta complementing Bristol’s lively character”.
Upside Down House UK associate director, Alex Barbary, said: “We are thrilled to be opening a brand new location in the heart of Bristol and the only one in the South West!
“Bristol’s quirky blend of culture and entertainment makes it the perfect setting for our unique attraction…
“We are very excited for the year ahead and look forward to working closely with We The Curious and neighbouring businesses to create an even greater destination for locals and visitors to enjoy.”
An upside-down house was located at Cribbs Causeway in 2020 but this is the first such house in Bristol.
