Bristol runner takes on 400 miles challenge in India
A Bristol adventurer will run for seven days between two Indian cities to fundraise for three charities.
From Friday, Will Robinson will begin a 400 miles run in Chennai that is planned to conclude in Mangalore on December 12.
Through the run, Robinson is fundraising for the UK-based charities Mind Over Mountains and The Running Charity and India’s Simply Sport Foundation.
is needed now More than ever
Robinson’s tryst with running began at the tender age of 14 when a casual jog with his father turned into a half marathon. Ever since, the Dorset-born adventurer has completed numerous 100-mile races across America, Europe and Kyrgyzstan.

In 2023, he also ran 200 miles around Queen Square in Bristol.
Robinson is now looking for ways to give back to the community through his running: “Running and an active lifestyle has given me so much and now it’s time to give something back.
“This run is about forging connections, supporting mental wellbeing, and demonstrating the profound impact of physical activity.
“Through the support of Mind Over Mountains, The Running Charity, and Simply Sport Foundation, I hope to inspire others to take steps towards improving their wellbeing, regardless of their life circumstances.”
The 28-year-old will also be making a pit stop at Bangalore, mid-run where he hopes to engage with athletes from the local running community.

He added: “India has a vibrant running community, and I’m keen to meet inspiring individuals who are passionate about using sport to make a positive difference.”
Robinson’s fundraiser is set for a target of £21,000 and has made £1,330 even before the start of the run.
All chosen charities have dedicated causes for the community’s benefit – Mind Over Mountains enables mental well-being through therapeutic outdoor experiences, The Running Charity champions running as a positive way to support young people and India’s Simply Sport Foundation promotes mental and physical wellbeing through various sports.
