Bristol teacher nominated for BAFTA mentoring award
Local teacher, Sarah Bramley-Dymond, has made the final of the BAFTA Young Game Designers Mentor Award.
The prestigious award is given to an inspirational individual involved in the education and guidance of aspiring young game creators in the UK. The finalists are all people who have inspired young people, particularly reaching out to those who would not usually explore game design.
Mrs Bramley-Dymond is head of IT at Redmaids’ High School, Westbury-on-Trym. She has been nominated for the award by her students, who are extremely appreciative of the effort she puts in for them.

The student who made the nomination said: “Mrs Bramley-Dymond has been a huge source of support not only for me, but for everyone in the Code Club,” – the club she set up at the school for aspiring coders and game-builders.
Mrs Bramley-Dymond’s generosity did not stop there; she also organised a host of guest speakers, traveled across the country to allow the students to participate in game development competitions and most recently, launched a school radio station with a team of students.
Mrs Tobias, headmistress at Redmaids’ High School, said: “There is no greater accolade for anyone working in education than hearing you have inspired your students.”
The winner will be revealed at the BAFTA Young Game Designers award ceremony, being held in London on Saturday July 8.
