Bristol West defies Debbonaire to vote Corbyn
Labour members in MP Thangam Debbonaire’s constituency have voted to back Jeremy Corbyn in the leadership election race.
The Bristol West Constituency Labour Party (CLP) voted 267 to 64 in favour of Corbyn to submit their nomination.
The move, which has no formal impact on the election, follows similar votes in Bristol East and Bristol North West to overwhelmingly back the leader who visited the city on Monday.

It also follows allegations of abuse and bullying at Debbonaire’s last CLP meeting. All CLP meetings across the country were suspended shortly after.
Debbonaire has recently clashed with Corbyn, supporting a vote of no confidence in him and revealing details of how she was hired and fired without her knowledge during her treatment for breast cancer.
She faced boos at a rally in Bristol on Monday where Corbyn told Bristol24/7 he would welcome her back into the fold if he was re-elected in September.
Corbyn is expected to cruise to victory in the election, and has the backing of the vast majority of CLP’s so far:
