Bristol West is the UK constituency with the most people signing viral petition
A petition to revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU was launched on Wednesday – and more Bristol West constituents have signed it than anywhere else in the country.
In the midst of Theresa May’s ailing attempts to rectify the mess that is Brexit, more than 3,500,000 people have made their feelings known and added their signatures to the petition.

The petition calls for the public to show their support for remaining in the EU as a ‘people’s vote’ seems unlikely.
Hitting a million signatures in less than 24 hours and causing the site to repeatedly crash, more than 6,000 have come from Thangam Debbonaire’s constituency of Bristol West alone – more than any other area in the UK.
Over 3,000 constituents from Bristol South have also signed the petition. Bristol North West, led by remainer Darren Jones MP, have added just over 2,500 signatures to the petition.
It’s not been a good week for the prime minister, with Conservative party members calling for her resignation, newspapers denouncing her leadership and arriving at the EU summit reiterating meekly that “this is what the people want”, against a backdrop of a country that remains bitterly divided.
Bristol’s vote in the original referendum was split, but Bristol West have always been firmly in the remain camp. Ashley, one of the Bristol West wards, voted overwhelmingly to remain, at 85.6 per cent.
