Independent journalism
is needed now More than ever
Keep our city's journalism independent.

Are you a super creative filmmaker who is looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills? Are you passionate about local media and using your creative capabilities for good?

If you join our team as a Content Creator you’ll find yourself at the centre of all of Bristol24/7s plans.

Bristol24/7 is the biggest independent publication in the South West, with unrivalled coverage of local news, culture and entertainment. Our membership keeps our journalism independent and funds community projects that change lives.

Our small team produces content that is read by hundreds of thousands of people – an audience that’s growing all the time. We’re looking for someone to help support our marketing and sales teams with making video content for social media.

Job description:

We are looking for a content creator to join our team. You will mainly be responsible for making and editing short, social-first videos, creating posters, social media graphics and liaising with clients and different teams within Bristol24/7. Your content will be used to support our membership, events, advertising and editorial work.

You will need:

  • To be super confident at filming and editing footage
  • To have initiative and creative flair – we need someone who can solve problems when out on a shoot and come up with creative ideas
  • Attention to detail – if it’s going out on Bristol24/7’s channels, we can’t have any grammatical errors
  • To be highly organised and able to work to deadlines – sometimes that means filming and editing a short reel on the same day!
  • A passion for local independent media
  • To enjoy working independently and as part of a team
  • To have initiative and be happy taking on new tasks when needed
  • To be skilled in Adobe Premiere and either Photoshop or Canva
  • To be super confident – happy to walk into a restaurant/cafe/shop and chat to staff and customers in order to make a film!
