Bristol Waste’s first reuse shop opens for business
Bristol Waste have opened a new reuse shop at Avonmouth Recycling Centre selling everything from televisions to toys.
Everything the shop sells might previously have gone to waste, with Bristol Waste also encouraging people to bring items to donate.
Items will be cleaned and quarantined for 72 hours before they are put out for sale. Electrical items will be PAT tested to make sure they are safe to use.

If the shop is profitable, 30 per cent of the profits will go to St Peter’s Hospice – the company’s chosen charity for this year.
The rest of the income will be used to fund and further develop the waste company’s reuse work. It is hoped the shop will help Bristol reach its recycling target of 50 per cent by 2020.

One that has only been made possible through the incredible support from project partners, our Recycling Centre crews who spot the amazing reusable items as they are brought on site, and the residents of Bristol, who have been buying and donating preloved items.
“Please help Bristol waste nothing by donating or buying reuse items; it’s good for Bristol, kind on the environment and even kinder on your pocket! Buy it or bring it, just don’t bin it”.
Due to the pandemic, customers may need to queue to access the site. Bristol Waste have provided a live traffic camera so customers can monitor the length of the queue.
The new shop is open from Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm.
