Bumper beer giveaway for Bristol24/7 members

By Meg Houghton-Gilmour  Wednesday Sep 6, 2023

Bristol24/7 are celebrating reaching a new membership milestone in the same way we celebrate every individual that supports us – by giving out a lot of free beer.

We’re delighted to announce that our membership has now surpassed 1,000 individuals paying £5 a month or £45 a year to support us, marking us well on our way to creating a truly sustainable model for local independent journalism.

To mark this achievement, we’ve joined forces with one of Bristol’s premier breweries, Wiper & True. Join us for an unforgettable day of music, camaraderie, and of course, free beer on Saturday 23 September.

Keep our city's journalism independent.

Wiper & True’s Old Market taproom is home to the freshest pints, brewed metres away from your seat and delicious dumplings from Bristol legends, Eatchu. The taproom is a friendly, inclusive venue with a big emphasis on accessibility and a safe, welcoming atmosphere – for everyone. We can’t wait to see you there!

Bristol-based label Three Sign Records founded by Max Radford will be playing some of their best acts from Bristol’s flourishing indie and electronic music scene.

Producer, singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist MAX RAD has been putting out self-reflective and heartfelt electronica alongside deeply emotional lyricism for the best part of 3 years, and he’s curated a stellar line-up of artists to bring us big vibes for the day, with a very special guest TBA.

Expect DJ’s and live acts bringing good vibes, good music and free entry all day, plus a pint on the house for every Bristol24/7 member*. Members can claim their free pint by logging in to their account and claiming the perk on the day.

Bristol24/7 team members will be on hand to chat, connect, and raise a glass with you in celebration of your unwavering support. We’ll also be distributing copies of our latest magazine and the ever-popular food and drink guide.

Bristol24/7 members get free beer year round from Bristol Beer Factory, who generously offer a free pint every month to each supporter at each of their venues – bringing the total number of free beers each member can claim to four per month.

As well as the independent journalism, the revenue generated from the membership goes directly to supporting Bristol24/7’s social impact projects. These include their dedicated Climate & Sustainability Editor, their four Community Reporters, their work to support local charities with free marketing and their work experience programme. As a community interest company, creating opportunities for young people, empowering environmental projects and amplifying marginalised voices are central to their decision making.

*Up to 500 pints
