Campaigners gather in Bristol to oppose Rosebank
Protesters gathered on College Green to demand that the government reverse their approval of a new oil and gas field in the North Sea.
Stop Rosebank campaigners want to end all new oil and gas extraction and bring existing production within safe climate limits.
Campaigners say that “soaring cost of fossil fuels is the cause of the current cost-of-living crisis and people… are now awake to what is being done to our planet by profiteering oil and gas”.

Green Party co-leader and Bristol Central prospective MP, Carla Denyer, was among the speakers on College Green on Saturday afternoon.
She said: “Thank you for being here today to stand up for what’s right and to call out what’s wrong.
“To say clearly and loudly that drilling for oil at Rosebank is a climate crime and those giving it the green light are guilty.
“Thank you for being here today to take a stand for the only kind of liveable future which is possible – one where fossil fuels stay in the ground.
“One where we work together to limit climate chaos, here and in every part of our shared world.”
