Car overturns on Gloucester Road in crash with lorry

A car overturned onto a cycle lane on Gloucester Road after a crash involving a lorry on Monday morning.

The wheel of the car came off during the road traffic collision and struck a window of a nearby car after ending up on its roof.

Photos show the aftermath of the accident with the grey car’s bonnet seriously damaged as it was carted away. The windscreen of the lorry was also smashed.

Police attended the scene close to The Royal Oak pub after the incident which took place at around 5.30am.

On social media, Travelwest shared: “Gloucester Road closed between Cambridge Road to Nevil Road due to an incident. #twTraffic #Bristol AC.”

It reopened at about 8:45am with traffic flow returning to normal about half an hour later.
