Caroline Lucas visited Bristol West to support Carla Denyer
The Greens are once again pinning their hopes of gaining a second MP on Bristol West. In 2017, Green candidate Molly Scott Cato came in third and Labour’s Thangam Debbonaire secured one of the biggest majorities in the country.
Speaking at the Green Party campaign launch, Denyer told Bristol24/7 the political landscape is much different this time around.
Lucas said: “What we can do is to really be that voice constantly pushing the others to increase their ambition.”
After visiting the roof of We The Curious, Lucas and Denyer visited Everoze, a renewable energy consultancy. They were greeted by a team of employees from the company, as well as the president of the Green Party Society at the University of Bristol, Sarah Sharp.
Denyer outlined her plans for a sustainable future and ambitious plans to make Bristol carbon-neutral by 2030.
Lucas spoke about how the next ten years are crucial in terms of “getting off the collision course that we’re on with climate catastrophe”.
