A celebrity football fixture featuring some well known faces is taking place in Bristol on Sunday.
The annual charity football event, Battle of the Balls, will raise vital funds for Rugby For Heroes, a charity dedicated to help military personnel who are making the transition to civilian life with financial and personal support.
This year’s fixture will feature former All Blacks star Zinzan Brooke and former Wales and Lions star Shane Williams along with former Bristol City football players Scott Murray, Louis Carey and Joe Burnell.
is needed now More than ever
The fixture will kick off at 3pm at Shaftesbury Park in Frenchay.
Harry Redknapp, former West Ham and Spurs manager who has 641 Premier League games under his belt, will be managing one side; while the other side will be managed by the actor and Big Brother winner Jason Burill.
The organisers of the event said: “This event is not just a game; it’s a mission to combine the thrill of ball sports with the power of community.
“The core idea is simple yet compelling: to harness the competitive spirit and star power of former professional athletes and celebrity friends to make a positive impact.
“These sports icons, who once dominated their respective fields, now channel their passion and determination into raising much-needed funds for Rugby For Heroes, a charity dedicated to aiding service men and women as they transition from military to civilian life.”
