Charlie and Mollie from The Traitors abseil down Children’s Hospital
Former The Traitors contestants Mollie Pearce and Charlie Bees joined more than 90 people for a charity abseil down the Children’s Hospital on Saturday.
“This is for Bristol!” shouted Charlie with a nervous grin as she scaled down the building, recreating the moment she said the same thing during a challenge in the BBC One series that aired at the start of 2024.
The pair, who are both from Bristol, were raising money for Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, which aims to improve the health and happiness of patients in ten hospitals across the city and in Weston-super-Mare.

Speaking about why she was lending her support, Mollie, whose ulcerative colitis came to dominate her teenage years and now lives with a stoma, told BBC Radio Bristol: “I love the hospital. I was diagnosed here so I spent a lot of time here over the years so I feel very grateful.
“I was in the Children’s Hospital and then obviously moved to the adults and they’ve both done a lot for me over the years. Definitely giving them something back.
Charlie added: “It was such good fun, I’d recommend anyone to do it as it’s such a good cause. It just gives you so much pride and a sense of accomplishment.”

Meg Watts, the event organiser from Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, said: “The Big Bristol Abseil is a fantastic event and this year has been no different.
“So many brave supporters have braved the descent – from current and past patients, family members and staff from our hospitals.
“So far we’ve raised more than £30,000 and that’s still going up – all to improve the health and happiness of patients in our hospitals. Thank you to the people of Bristol, Weston and the South West for digging deep.”
