Colston Hall to open foyer for blood donations
Colston Hall’s large open plan foyer provides an ideal space for blood donation sessions to take place during the coronavirus pandemic.
In response to the public health emergency, the music venue is reopening its foyer from Wednesday on select days to allow extra blood donation sessions to take place.
Bristol Music Trust (BMT) chief executive, Louise Mitchell, said: “Our spacious foyer allows for social distancing to be observed while vital blood donations are made.
is needed now More than ever
“Many venues usually used by the NHS are not suitable because they are not large enough for the appropriate distancing measures, so we are very pleased to be able to offer the hall and help in this way.”
Mitchell added that the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors remains paramount and BMT will be working closely with the NHS to ensure these sessions go ahead safely.
The sessions are by appointment only and drop-ins will not be admitted. To register as a blood donor, see available sessions and book an appointment, visit my.blood.co.uk.
