Converted garage in Easton goes on market for nearly £200k
People have slammed the estate agents behind a converted garage for sale in Easton.
The 16.4sqm building on Alpine Road is being listed as a “recently converted and refurbished one bedroom bungalow”.
The space has been converted from an old garage, and is on the market with CJ Hole for £190,000.
is needed now More than ever
The property features a dining and kitchen area, a small bathroom and a bedroom, and a small back alley which is marketed as a “courtyard”. It also comes with a ten year warranty.

There are some modern appliances like solar panels, underfloor heating and an efficient energy supply.
It’s marketed as both an affordable option for first time buyers booking to get on the property ladder, and investors looking for a “low maintenance modern property in the sought after area.”
But the property’s size has led some to question the price tag, with some asking whether the property is even legal.
In the UK, the minimum standard for newbuilds with one shower room is 37 sqm, but there is no law enforcing this.
“Most Premier Inn rooms are bigger than that – how on earth did it get planning permission?” said one Reddit user.

“I’ve got a couple of used shoeboxes I’m hoping to get on the market soon… I’m sure one of my size 9’s could be converted into a 5 bed HMO maybe 6..?” added another.
According to the property’s planning application, the building was previously a Chinese takeaway, but has now been converted into a ‘dwellinghouse’.
One user commented on the property’s short warranty: “That’s appalling. “Comes with a 10 year structural warranty” for £190k.”
“Sadly someone will buy that,” concluded another.
