We The Curious opens its doors
At-Bristol science centre is no more. In its place, We The Curious has opened its doors to present a much more welcoming feel to visitors.
Walls and partitions have been taken down to make the entrance lobby far more enticing.
And inside there is a new interactive exhibit that We The Curious staff say “celebrates the city of Bristol as a playful and curious place to live and be”.

The new exhibit is only a taster of what to expect over the next year or so, which will see the ground floor completely redesigned.
Set to open in 2019, the new exhibition will be designed from 10,000 questions gathered from people across Bristol and beyond.
“Our inspiration for this project comes from the amazing questions we’re asked by our visitors each and every day,” says We The Curious creative director Anna Starkey.
“Our mission at We The Curious is to empower everyone to ask questions, and to open up the way science works, to enjoy it culturally as well as educationally.
“‘We’ is you, me, everyone. With the new funding we’ve been awarded, we have an exciting opportunity to create a new space together, and get curious about what we can do beyond that too.”

Ideas for the future of We The Curious include a ‘theatre of curiosity that encourages questioning, dialogue and discussion

An open city lab “will revolutionise public engagement with university research via a public lab programme where scientists involve citizens in their ongoing research”

10,000 questions will gathered from people across Bristol and beyond to form the new ground floor exhibition

A five-metre high interactive ‘wall of everything’ will run the length of the exhibition floor and be accessible from both inside and outside the building
