A day spent travelling to all of Bristol’s train stations
A railway enthusiast set himself the challenge of boarding or alighting at all of Bristol’s 14 stations in just one day.
Nick Badley has form in these sort of challenges: in 2022, he rode the entire Merseyrail network in Liverpool in one day and is currently on a quest to eventually board or alight a train at every station in the UK.
Nick has now reached more than 1000 stations and ticked off another when Ashley Down became the UK’s 2,584th station when it opened in September.

The University of Lincoln student was accompanied by his friend Natt during the day, which he documented for his YouTube channel.
“This challenge was actually entirely planned on-the-fly, as in we just looked at departures a couple of stations in advance and then hopped on,” Nick told Bristol24/7.
“I don’t usually do this but we gave it a shot for this one!
“There was a quite a bit of risk-taking with walks between stations, as particularly for walking between Portway Park & Ride and Shirehampton, we didn’t know if we’d make it to Shirehampton in time to catch the train we wanted, which would have set us back by half an hour!”
Nick said the most difficult part of this challenge was “probably all the walks and jogging we had to do, plus the fact I’d already been up since 6am that morning to go ride the first train out of Ashley Down station”.
“I was knackered by the end!”
