By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Jan 27, 2016

Rich Warren and Alice Cabanas have been named as the new co-directors of the Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival.

Encounters will return to Bristol from September 20-25 once again showcasing the best of the international short filmmaking talent and a programme of special events, with the festival now open for entries.

Warren has a long history with Encounters, after spending eight years as producer and operations manager. Cabanas has delivered the marketing and business development for two editions of the festival; she will now head all of the special event and marketing elements.

Encounters founder David Sproxton said: “We were astounded by the talent showcased in the submissions for the festival in 2015 and the number of successful nominations through to the shortlist for the Oscars and BAFTAs goes to show how Encounters is a gateway to international success.

“With Rich and Alice at the helm the festival promises to be a dynamic forum for debate, education and networking.”
