End finally in sight for Temple Gate roadworks
Originally scheduled to finish in autumn 2018, the end could soon be in sight for the roadworks at Temple Gate.
Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers alike have got used to the works since they began, with pedestrians especially accustomed to the routes to cross the road changing as regularly as the staircases at Hogwarts.
The installation of ‘high friction surfacing’ at junctions and on bus lanes from Monday will form one of the final elements of the project.

Despite the planned works due to be finished on October 31, the city council say that “some work may need to be undertaken in November as a number of the remaining elements involve excavations around existing services or are weather dependent and so susceptible to delay”.
After the work that started in June 2017 has been completed, work to correct defects has been scheduled to take place for later this year.
Kye Dudd, Bristol City Council cabinet member for transport, said: “We recognise that this next stage of work will cause further disruption to businesses and residents in the area.
“We continue to thank them for their patience as the final elements are completed on this complex project. We are speaking to local businesses that are open in the evenings to ensure disruption is minimised so that they can operate as usual.
“Safety must be paramount in this busy area and the anti-skid road treatment ensures we follow best practice where safety is concerned.”
