A statement from Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Temple and Bedminster were called at 12:33 to reports of a fire at a restaurant in Stokes Croft, Bristol.
“On arrival, firefighters found a fire in the ground floor kitchen of the restaurant and used two high pressure hose reels to extinguish the blaze.
“A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke and four firefighters wore breathing apparatus for safety.
“All persons were safely evacuated from the restaurant and the flats above.
“Crews remain at the scene to ensure there’s no further fire spread. Our police and ambulance colleagues are also in attendance.
