Five arrested after stabbing near Rawnsley Park
Five people are in custody after a man was attacked near Rawnsley Park, in the Stapleton Road area, late Thursday evening.
The victim has been described as a man in his 30s, who was missing from the scene when the police arrived after a call about the incident.
It was later brought to their attention that the man had made his own way to a hospital, where he is currently being treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
is needed now More than ever
Early investigations led the police to an address in Barker Walk where five males, said to be between the ages of 16 and 55, were arrested.
Understanding concerns raised by residents, Tom Grent, chief inspector of Avon and Somerset Police, has assured the community of a thorough investigation.
He said: “Our officers quickly responded to this incident last night, with five arrests being made within an hour of us being called.
“At this time, we are treating this as an isolated incident that is not connected to any other police investigation.
“Nevertheless, officers will continue with high-visibility reassurance patrols in the area, in addition to carrying out the necessary investigative enquiries required to seek successful prosecution against those responsible.”
The incident occurred around 9.30 pm and the police reached the scene seven minutes after the call was made.
Earlier this year separate incidents of violence were reported from Rawnsley Park, causing concerns about safety in the area.
