Flash floods across Bristol following heavy rain

By Karen Johnson  Tuesday Oct 8, 2024

Continuous showers on Tuesday have wreaked havoc across parts of the city

A yellow warning has been issued by the Met Office, with the likelihood of thunderstorms between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Met Office has also warned the public about a “slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost”.

The showers and thunderstorms are expected to move north and east

Albion Road in Easton is currently flooded with cars partially submerged in water and trash floating around.

Other parts that have reported flooding and road closures include Muller Road, Blackboy Hill and Stapleton Road.

Parts of the M5 have also been closed and traffic is being diverted via the A38, A378, A303 and A30 to rejoin the M5 at J29.
