Giant Elf on the Shelf comes to Bristol during run-up to Christmas

By Martin Booth  Friday Nov 22, 2024

While “elaborate and dramatic” ceremonies and secret handshakes take place inside Freemasons’ Hall on Park Street, the outside of the building is now a perch for Brunelf, a not-so-secret member of Santa’s inner circle.

The exact locations for the Elf on the Shelf’s tour around Bristol were kept under wraps in 2023 but in the run-up to this Christmas we will know exactly where the ‘scout elf’ will be.

In partnership with Redcliffe & Temple BID and Bristol City Centre BID, Brunelf invites everyone “to explore the city’s landmarks in a whole new way”.

Redcliffe & Temple BID director, Steve Bluff, said: “Our aim is to create a Christmas experience that inspires Bristolians to explore their city and enjoy these well-loved locations in a fresh, festive light.

“The Scout Elf’s return brings new activities and adventures to these iconic spots and we’re thrilled to see the magic unfold.”

Vicky Lee, director of Bristol City Centre BID, added: “The Elf on the Shelf has quickly become a holiday favourite for the city and this year we’re excited to take it to new heights and new spots.

“It’s all about celebrating Bristol and making the festive season unforgettable for everyone who visits.”

Alongside Brunelf’s Christmas adventure, there’s an opportunity to participate in the new for 2024 ‘Elfie’ competition. Simply snap a selfie with Bristol’s Scout Elf and post it on Instagram using the hashtag #BristolElfie, while tagging @bristolbid and @redcliffeandtemplebid. Each post enters participants into a drawing to win a £500 Love Bristol gift card.
