Green co-leader Carla Denyer is the new MP for Bristol Central
Carla Denyer has won a spectacular victory in Bristol Central.
The Green Party co-leader received 24,539 votes, beating incumbent Thangam Debbonaire into second place by more than 10,000 votes.
Tory Samuel Williams came third and Reform UK Robert Clarke came fourth.

Among a likely Labour landslide victory, Denyer dethroning a senior Labour figure is even more of a seismic result.
It means that Debbonaire will not take up her seat around the cabinet table but could still be elevated to the House of Lords by Keir Starmer when he becomes prime minister.
