Gromit Unleashed trail to return in 2025
A decade since the first Gromit Unleashed in Bristol, organisers have revealed that the popular sculpture trail is returning in 2025.
The charity trail has raised £20m for Bristol Children’s Hospital since 2013 when it was first held.
It was originally meant to be a one-off but has since become a worldwide phenomenon with events taking place as far away as Hong Kong.
is needed now More than ever
The Grand Appeal director, Nicola Masters, said: “We had no idea in 2013 that Gromit Unleashed would grow into the global brand it is now.
“Personally, it’s one that is incredibly close to my heart. It’s been nearly 30 years since The Grand Appeal was founded. In that time, there have been so many career-defining moments but Gromit Unleashed has stolen its fair share of them!”
After each trail – which since the original has also seen Wallace, Feathers McGraw and Shaun the Sheep feature – the sculptures are sold at auction, with Gromit Lightyear designed by Pixar in 2013, selling for £65,000.
Masters added: “Now, we are ready to embrace Bristol’s pioneering, innovative, creative spirit and Gromit’s inventiveness to deliver a new sculpture trail in Bristol in 2025, with our partners at Aardman.”
Masters and her team are now planning for the new trail, with more announcements promised soon.
